Been wanting to do a TG stamp for awhile. Just haven't had the time. Did a lot of work yesterday so I felt it was alright to take a break and make one. :3

This didn't give me much trouble at all. Drew it all on Flash. Didn't draw it on photoshop first this time.

Free for use but only on DA.

Art and character belongs to: Me

You don't get to decide who is and isn't transgender.  A transgender person is someone who suffers from Gender Dysphoria, and many of them would in fact love the idea of having their body magically transformed.

You just decided what trans people should be like yourself.

No, the medical and psychiatric communities decided what trans people are.  Other people have tried to redefine it so that they count because they want attention and don't mind if that makes the public think that trans people are nutjobs or works to prevent actual cures.

The medical and psychiatric communities are extremely transphobic which is why people are "redefining" it. It's irritating how people constantly overlook this.

I've mentioned this issue before. This concept of "transtrending" or "faking it" and how it's an odd concept to me from beginning to end. I'm not talking about twelve year olds doing things for "attention", either. I mean it's strange to give this label to people who question their assigned gender but aren't quite sure about being trans, then end up deciding they aren't trans after all, or something else happens which leads them to be ambivalent about the question to begin with. Where's the issue, exactly? Isn't it expected for this thing to happen? Is gender not constructed and deconstructed very seriously? Only true essentialists would even be so bothered about this strange happening phenomenon, and they end up revealing themselves to be strangely eager at keeping up this social institution of gender, or an eagerness that is anyways inherently reactionary.

I'm curious, do most of you have this idea that the people I mentioned suddenly wake up and decide they're going to identify as something else just because they can? For the hell of it, for fun? Mess around? If that's the case, what do you actually think identify means? Don't you realize it's not something silly and simple, such as picking out an outfit or deciding what to eat for breakfast? Of course it's nothing on that level, it's a fundamental understanding of one's self. Now if you're trans, chances are you feel discontent when the idea of identifying as your "assigned gender" is brought up. That being said, this is why people identify differently to begin with. This is the obvious, and most if not all trans people feel this way.

From what I'm getting from this [truscum] ideology, people aren't trans because they don't follow [truscum]'s definition of dysphoria, which they cling to and nonconsensually assign to their ideas of "real trans people" because apparently every trans person has to hate their bodies and themselves, their genitals and their assigned gender. No, not at all. It shouldn't be a requirement, you shouldn't have to characterize and justify your feelings about being a trans person as dysphoria, and people who don't fit the [truscum] ideology of "real trans people" shouldn't have their identities and experiences be mockeries to trans people and [our] struggles because for the most part, we share the same struggles. Different forms? Of course. It's silly to constantly redefine dysphoria to control the trans population and gatekeep it in order to allow only people that are "legitimate" trans people.

Now you have people out there who actually fear or feel uncomfortable using certain [gendered] language, because many cisgendered people and truscum have caused this feeling to happen. Of course on one hand, many people who label themselves as truscum will go on and out of their way to preach about how having dysphoria makes you trans and is the ultimate level of "transness" and that if you're trans, you should be prioritized in every way almost every time. Then on the other hand, they'll stamp out anything they arbitrarily deem as "mocking" their specific experiences, specifically things such as neopronouns.

Yes, a lot of people who use neopronouns aren't these twelve-year olds(this entire idea of twelve year olds being the majority of this is probably one of my favorite strawmen arguments) seeking attention and harming the community. Many who use neopronouns are people making light of their gender confusion or people taking pride in their gender identities. Hell, people who may enjoy being trans. Of course, anything that doesn't conform to your worldview of "being trans is always a horrible thing, there are no bright sides" is automatically deemed as non-dysphoric and almost instantly, the label of transtrender is slapped on.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not denying that the general definition of trans being "discontent with one's assigned gender" is incorrect, because it is technically correct, but it's an act of aggression to forcibly characterize this definition as the contentious adjective "dysphoric", and it's also an act of aggression to assume and presume that every trans person has to "prove" or justify themselves and their decision to identify as trans in a way that people who call themselves "truscum" deem worthy. It has to be understood that not everyone is required to feel the same way [truscum] do about being trans, thinking otherwise is gatekeeping the trans community, and that does harm.

In relation, the American Psychiatric Association’s board of trustees approved changes to the latest version of The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders  (DSM-V) that will remove the term “Gender Identity Disorder” (GID) which has historically been used by mental health professionals to diagnose transgender individuals. Simultaneously, the term “Gender Dysphoria” will be used to describe emotional distress over “a marked incongruence between one’s experienced/expressed gender and assigned gender.”

(Also, transmedicalism isn't necessary in the medical community anymore!)

I'd assume many of you know what transmedicalism is, or what a transmedicalist is, as many of you are one/are using it when speaking of "transtrenders". To summarize, transmedicalists believe "transness" is a disability or something that needs medical treatment and is the highest priority of trans activism, or even the simple characteristic of transness itself. It's not quite the same thing as truscum, but the two do overlap. Not all truscum are transmedicalists, and not all transmedicalists are truscum. To me, this is both an offensive ideology and also counterproductive to liberation for the trans community. Of course, if you find yourself viewing your transness as a disability, or part of your disability, there's of course a large community of trans people who are disabled as this community is definitely variegated, and from there you can find celebration along with solidarity and grieving. If you try to define transness as a disability inherently though, this will only set up blockades and force a diverse set of people to conform to a medical institution that is only rife with ineffective treatment and abuse towards trans people, or mostly LGBT+ people in general.

If you don't know what this gatekeeping mentality is doing that makes it so harmful, it's simple. It's catering towards the more fortunate. The more fortunate who frame themselves constantly as poor meek and pitiable victims, perpetuable to the point where if any disagreement(including trans people going to rates of transmisogyny to defend themselves) towards them is had, it's seen as hostility and oppression. Not so surprising. Aside from the racism and transmisogyny that come along with this mentality, it's a shitty position to take either way, because chances are anyone who falls into the category of being disabled could tell you that framing your identity as a disability is one of the fastest ways to lose sympathy from the public at a large shot. Yet, transmedicalists ignore this and believe in this counterproductive ideology anyhow, not coming off as too much of a shocker.

You could have just left it at "I'm tucute" or "I'm an idiot" if you wanted to be succinct.  I've made long posts explaining exactly why this attitude of "I can identify as what I want and you're just a big meanie if you deny me the privilege to call myself underprivileged!"is incredibly deleterious to the public perception of real(in your words, "truscum") trans people.

If you think being trans is "fun", you aren't, and pretending that you are makes real trans people think that there's something wrong with them that they don't feel comfortable the way they are.  It's attitudes like yours that are partially responsible for the obscenely high trans suicide rate.  You're the fucking scum here, and don't forget it.

It's funny because that's not what I was getting across at all, it's not too hard to understand, really. Are you trans? If you aren't you don't get a say in what trans people identify as, that simple. Someone who gatekeeps and pushes that gatekeeping ideology which causes harm, and was the point I was getting across is the actual scum.

"real trans people"? Really? Who knew my entire life I was a fake trans™ until actual identification!

Yeah, what you're trying to say is that people don't need to be dysphoric to be transgender, which is absolutely a shit thing to say to someone who actually has it.  If you want so fucking bad to have your "identity" that has nothing to do with what the medical community has already established, make up your own word instead of trying to co-opt it from a group of people who are genuinely suffering.  Trans people like me absolutely need to be cured, and that cure will come in the form of something that permanently and fully changes their body to match their gender, be it brain transplants or retroviral gene therapy or something else, and trying to "me too" into the group of people that can't feel comfortable with that sort of cure is fucking abhorrent.  I don't give a shit about your pedantic trying to pick at things to shove your version of "trans-ness" into a protected status.  Take your fucking victimhood and shove it up your ass, because I'm not interested in having people feel sorry for me.  I'm interested in a real cure, and shitty people like you are standing in the way of that.

It depends really. If I knew it was coming I'd like to keep my mind so I would remember to want to change back, but if it was without warning wouldn't you rather be happy and blissful after the change than keep your mind and freak out over the new you?
